APA in 2011: More Than 2,000 Animals Found Homes

The Animal Protective Association of Missouri also features a weekly adoptable pet on Patch.

Readers of this site are very familiar with the mission of the Animal Protective Association of Missouri.

Each week, the Brentwood-based nonprofit spotlights an adoptable pet on the site. That's part of the organization's goal to give homes to otherwise-homeless animals. Many of the animals have been lost or abandoned.

In 2011*, the organization found homes for more than 2,000 animals.

Last year, the organization also:

  • Went through $50,000 worth of dog and cat food
  • Logged more than 10,000 hours of service from 280 volunteers
  • Educated more than 4,600 children and adults through the human education program

*Numbers as of Dec. 9.
