Basketball Districts: Girls Are Out, Boys Remain
Brentwood and MRH are in the Class 3, District 5 basketball tournament.
After Monday night, only and boys remain in Class 3, District 5 postseason basketball, at Metro High School.
Both boys and girls teams from Brentwood and MRH won in first-round games in the district tournament on Feb. 25. Both girls’ teams played in semifinals on Monday night, and both lost, ending their season.
The Brentwood girls (12-8) defeated Confluence (6-16) in the first game, on Saturday, but were outmatched in each quarter against Cardinal Ritter (11-8), falling 22-55 in the semis. Guards, senior Amber Williams and junior Brittany Woodson each scored eight in the effort.

The MRH girls (14-12) also fell in semis, losing 40-29 to Metro (19-9). Guards, senior Antonia Lee scored eight and sophomore Kyra Wallace had four points in the game.
The Brentwood boys (10-10) downed Lift for Life (9-8) in round one, on Saturday, and will face Cardinal Ritter (16-5) in their semifinal match at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

The MRH boys (17-6) defeated Cleveland (5-16) on Saturday. They’ll play Carnahan (11-7) on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
The boys' district final is March 1 at 7 p.m.
