Boys Hoops: MRH, Brentwood Off to Hot Starts

The Blue Devils performed well in a competitive tournament in Arkansas while the Eagles started the season with a 3-2 record.

boys basketball coach Corey Frazier tallied his 200th career win after a successful weekend of games for the Blue Devils in Arkansas.

MRH traveled to Jonesboro (AR) to compete in the nationally prestigious Hurricane Classic, and won two of three games.

Junior Kahlid Hagens and senior Jake Hensel were named to the all-tournament team, with Hagens averaging 20.3 points/game and Hensel knocking down nearly every three-pointer he took.

This week, the Blue Devils will be competing in the Webster Classic Tournament at Webster Groves High School, beginning with a first-round game against Saint Louis University High, Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m.

The Brentwood boys hoops team also had a good week. The Eagles took third place in the Valley Park tournament, thanks to a thrilling 53-51 win over Principia last Friday night.

Sophomore sensation Karvon Owens had 20 points, six steals and four assists in the win, and, as of Tuesday, was leading the Eagles in all three categories with 19.3 points, 6.0 assists, and 4.5 steals a game so far this season.
