Brentwood City Employees to Get Merit Raise if Current 2013 Budget Passes
The raise is in the budget, but several aldermen have stated opposition to it.
Brentwood Board of Aldermen will discuss the 2013 city budget at the meeting Monday.
The proposed budget currently includes a 3 percent merit raise for city employees. Aldermen Andy Leahy, Tom Kramer and Maureen Saunders said at a Ways and Means Committee meeting that the city should consider no raise or a reduced raise.
Police chief Steve Disbennett requested three additional patrol officers, which is not in the budget as it stands.
Alderwoman Maureen Saunders has supported additional officers, but alderman Tom Kramer and Mayor Pat Kelly do not, from an article in the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
A public hearing on the proposed budget is scheduled at the meeting.
