Former MRH Middle School Principal Bob Dillon Accepts Affton Position

Dillon will be the director of technology for the Affton School District.

Dr. Robert Dillon, who resigned as principal of Maplewood Richmond Heights Middle School on March 6, has found a job in Affton.

Following a still unexplained resignation as principal of Maplewood Richmond Heights Middle School, Dillon accepted the position of Director of Technology and Information for Affton School District. He begins the new post on April 22.

Dillon said a lot of innovation will come out of the Affton School District over the next three or four years.

"I’ve been impressed with Affton, they have a pretty fresh leadership team that are really dedicated to serving community," Dillon told Patch.

"I’m in a place where I’ve learned a lot about technology and technology integration over the past few years at Maplewood, and hopefully some of that knowledge and some of my passion about that will transfer over to my work at Affton," he said.

Superintendent of Affton Schools Dr. Steve Brotherton said in a press release, “I am confident that Bob’s established record of experience and innovation will help us achieve a new level of excellence in our schools and community.”

Dillon said he's thinking about how he can now support MRH as a community member and parent.
