Jumpin' Jupiter Gets Eviction Notice, Agreement Reached: Will Stay

An eviction notice was tagged to the club's front door on May 31, though the lights were on and the music was playing the day after.

An eviction notice appeared on the front door of Maplewood's Jumpin' Jupiter on May 31.

A circuit judge ruled that the club must give back the space and repay $40,506, according to an article in STLtoday.com.

But things have worked out for the best.

An update to the article said an agreement had been reached that would allow Jumpin' Jupiter to  "continue to operate in the space for a long time to come."

Ughh.. they need to go! The women who dress in those hooker outfits go outside and parade along the sidewalks almost cause car accidents due to the fact people drive by and stare at them. Apperently they have no concern that there are young kids in that area, no one wants to see your business hanging out like that! Looks more like a soft porn show than an act! There's always backed up traffic there as well because of the drunks running across the road, we've seen several people almost hit because they wern't paying attention while crossing

I knew this place wouldn't last since the day it opened. Doesn't seem like the owners did a very good market analysis. Maplewood is growing fast but the whole NYC style burlesque show was like 10 years too soon for this area lol what do they plan on doing now? You mentioned an agreement?

I've been more worried about their business plan than the scantily clad ladies. They are definitely going for a small niche in a small town. And it's odd that they spent all that money fixing up the inside but have still not installed proper signage. If Concerned Maplewood Resident actually chatted with the performers, he/she would discover that they're generally nice people who are trying to make a living, and are not whores. Their clothes are no more revealing than those worn by some of the girls who used to patronize the Jive and Wail, which drew considerably more people. Heaven forbid our entertainment district would be busy at night while the elderly and overly conservative are home in bed. I wish the venue operators good luck, but I hope they widen their net a little. I've never attended a show because the door charge is too high and their drinks are too expensive.
