Kakao Chocolate Named Maplewood Business of the Year
The Maplewood Chamber of Commerce made the announcement on Friday.
Kakao Chocolate has been named the 2011 Business of the Year, the Maplewood Chamber of Commerce announced on Friday.
The honor recognizes Kakao for its impact in a variety of categories, including "industry achievement, revenue growth, creative marketing endeavors, impeccable customer service, innovative products and company wide community involvement," the chamber's website notes.
Kakao, which also has a storefront in St. Louis, opened a second shop in Maplewood in February. In a previous article, owner Brian Pelletier said he chose Maplewood because it is a foodie destination.

A chamber selection committee determined the winner from a group of nominees. Autohaus BMW, Girls on the Run and the Hermann London Group were also nominated for the honor.
