Maplewood Kiwanis Donates $1,000 to MRH School District

The funds were raised during the club's Pancake Breakfast held this past November.

During the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District's Celebration of Excellence event on April 10, the Maplewood Kiwanis presented to the district a check in the amount of $1,000. The funds were raised during the club's Pancake Breakfast held this past November.

Tom Wickersham, President of the Maplewood Kiwanis, presented the check to Board of Education Vice President Lamar Agard.

“Each year the proceeds from the fundraiser go to support a program at the MRH Elementary,” Wickersham noted during the presentation.

This year's funds will go to support the school's Capstone Trip, a learning expedition to Chicago museums for the school's sixth graders. “We are pleased to present this check to support this program,” he said.

Maplewood Kiwanis is a local component of Kiwanis International. Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis and its Service Leadership Programs boast a membership of more than 600,000 men, women, and youth in nearly 16,000 clubs in more than 70 countries.
