Maplewood Police Report Sunday's Jumpin Jupiter Event to State Liquor Control

A Maplewood police sergeant said it was a private party, but they still shouldn't have been there.

The Jumpin Jupiter business license has been revoked, Maplewood Police Sgt. Matt Nighbor said on Monday. It's the third time this year.

A last minute effort to pay overdue state sales taxes on Nov. 27 appears to have fallen through.

Nighbor said a gathering in the building Sunday night was a private party. Maplewood police evicted the group of 20 around 7:00.

No alcoholic drinks were sold at the event and no Jumpin Jupiter employees were present.

Nighbor said a business license and liquor license go hand in hand, and drinks can’t be served if there’s no license to do business.

As a result, he said Maplewood Police filed a report on the incident with Missouri Alcohol and Tobacco Control.

This article was revised on Dec. 18 on the advice of Sgt. Nighbor, to make clear that no alcoholic drinks were sold at the event and no Jumpin Jupiter employees were present.
