Monarch Restaurant to Close Soon in Maplewood

Its owners are considering the possibility of relocating to a smaller location in the future, Feast Magazine reported on its website.

Monarch Restaurant in Maplewood will close in early March after nine years in downtown, Feast Magazine's The Feed blog reported Thursday online.

Quoting from The Feed post:

"In a press release, the owners, Jeff Orbin and Aaron Teitelbaum, explained that they’ve been on the hunt for a smaller location to potentially move the existing brand and are currently working on plans to launch a new concept this fall."

The announcement comes one day after Maplewood-Brentwood Patch reported that Josh Galliano, the restaurant's executive chef is a semifinalist for a major industry award.

So sorry to see them leave Maplewood. I loved their summer garden used to support the restaurant.

Very sad to see Monarch leave Maplewood. We dine there frequently. Hopefully another awesome restaurant will move into it's spot!
