MRH Football is Shut Out On the Road

The Blue Devils lose to Park Hills Central 0-7.

Maplewood Richmond Heights football, which before this weekend topped the area in small schools and the state in Class 2, went to Park Hills Central, and were topped.

An article in the St. Louis Post Dispatch quoted MRH coach Rich Nixon as saying Park Hills limited the Blue Devils' possessions.

“They did a good job of basically limiting our possessions, and we didn’t do a good job of finishing drives,” Nixon said. “Some of it is scheme. Some of it is mental lapses. But anytime we lose, it was my fault. I didn’t have us ready to go. When we win the kids do a great job and the coaches do a great job.”

MRH plays at Perryville (2-2) on Friday.

Brentwood, which smothered Cleveland 53-6 on Saturday, plays Cuba (1-3) at Brentwood on Friday.

Doug, could you dispel the report that Mrh had nine personal fouls called against them in the St.Gen game? This sounds grossly exaggerated in number. If it were true, I doubt the Patch nor the community would give the Coach/Team a free pass. As talented as the Blue Devils are, there should be no room for dirty play.
