MRH Middle School Names New Principal

Vice Principal Michael Dittrich moves to his new position on July 1.

Michael Dittrich will be promoted to principal of Maplewood Richmond Heights Middle School effective July 1, the school district announced on Tuesday.

Dittrich, who currently works as assistant principal, will fill the position left vacant by Dr. Robert Dillon's abrupt resignation last month.

In his time here at MRH, he has quickly shown his commitment to our students, teachers, parents and community as well as demonstrated his passion for helping our children achieve success both in and out of the classroom,” stated Superintendent Karen I. Hall in the release.

“It is an amazing honor to be given this new opportunity to serve the children and families of the Maplewood and Richmond Heights communities,” stated Dittrich in the release. “We have an outstanding group of staff and parents that are positioned to help our students achieve even greater academic success and add to the already extraordinary learning opportunities at the middle school.”

“We had many stellar candidates in the St. Louis area and from across the country. The fact that Michael rose to the top in each of our review sessions speaks to the outstanding work he has already done with our kids and the close connections he has made with our community,” stated Hall in the release. “His leadership will create a smooth transition for our students and staff, and his commitment and reputation for collaboration will provide them a successful learning environment.”
