MRH coach Jamie Frisella said the Blue Devils are showing improvement.

“We’ve got seniors beginning to lead and Austin Golden in leading the city in saves, obvious in his play tonight,” he said.

“Our defense is finally understanding what it is to be a defensive unit and play as a team,” he said. “They are covering well for each other.”

He said it was the best second half MRH has played this year.

Brentwood coach Cory Grage said his team just didn’t take care of it in the second half.

“We missed some opportunities in the first half and allowed them to get themselves back into it in the second,” he said.

“We kind of knew what their game was, and we allowed them to play it,” he said.

On Wednesday, Brentwood plays at Pius (9-3) and MRH at Pacific (5-4).
