Now Open: Brentwood Spine Clinic
The Brentwood Spine Clinic offers patients a way out of muscle and joint pain without the use of medications.
Dr. Clinton Daniels has recently opened the Brentwood Spine Clinic, a chiropractic and rehabilitation clinic, on 2202 S. Brentwood Blvd. The clinic rents space from Complete Fitness Results, a gym within the same building.
Daniels is a chiropractic physician and has also studied sports rehabilitation. He specializes in sports injuries and uses the two methods to help patients find a conservative way out of pain without the use of medications.
He said that chiropractors generally work with spinal manipulation and mostly back injuries. His knowledge of sports rehabilitation allows him to work on injuries to muscles along the limbs as well. He utilizes exercises to work a patient out of pain. He said that medication is a last resort at his clinic, but he is willing to refer a patient to a surgical doctor if his methods do not result in full recovery.
He became interested in chiropractic care after suffering a neck injury when he was a high school wrestler. He said his parents took him to a doctor who could find nothing wrong with his neck.
“I had a friend who said to go to a chiropractor, and he helped in a couple visits,” Daniels said.
He said that his clinic’s methods are not only better for a person’s overall health, but can be less expensive. He avoids unnecessary imaging, and only orders x-rays when they are needed.
“A lot of people x-ray everyone, and that’s a waste,” he said. “It depends on the case if you need imaging.”
Daniel’s said he has a good working relationship with Complete Fitness Results, and that he often works with members of the gym to help them out of muscle pain. But his patients do not need to belong to this or any other gym. He works with several trainers in the area.
The Brentwood Spine Clinic will be working with Logan College on an ankle sprain study to determine if a nutritional supplement combined with chiropractic care will achieve faster results. Daniel’s said the college received a $700,000 grant for the study and that he is only clinic in St. Louis that will participate.
Daniels resides in South St. Louis with his wife and two dogs. He is originally from Lafayette, IN and decided to settle in St. Louis after completing his study at Logan College.
