The 78-year-old Brentwood resident died earlier this month.

John Veith (Jack) Dahm, of Brentwood, died on July 3, according to an obituary in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

From the obituary:

"He was fond of saying in later years that he held 23 jobs, his favorite of which was farming with his friend and Best Man, Erwin Sellenriek. John was also a dedicated teacher of woodworking at Community School for many years. As a young man, John served in the U. S. Army for 3 years, stationed in New Jersey at a radar installation. His concern for members of the military and their families lasted his entire life."
