Pan D'Olive Opens on McCausland

The menu has mostly Italian dishes, with some Turkish thrown in.

Pan D’Olive, a new Italian/European restaurant, had a soft opening last week.

It's at 1603 McCausland Avenue, in the block south of Olympia, the well-established Greek restaurant.

Owner Sam Kacar said he’ll have fresh seafood, steaks, pastas and homemade flatbreads. For lunch, there’s reasonably-priced sandwiches and paninis.

He said it’s a casual setting, where a couple can have dinner for under $50.

It’s hard to miss the onyx bar on the main floor.

“We’ll pack this bar, then we have a dinning room in the back and downstairs,” he said. “It’s a reasonably-priced Mediterranean menu. Mainly Italian.”

He said he’s Turkish-born, so the first Sunday night of the month will feature Turkish dishes. Kids eat free on Wednesday nights. Sunday brunch will come eventually.

Angela Muslli is the front of house manager. She’s worked for Kacar in restaurants in Kirkwood, Clayton and Frontenac.

She describes the interior as “casual meeting sleek. The atmosphere is sleek, but we’re not trying to be pretentious. It is a little bit intimidating when you first come in here, but we’re hoping we’ll break that intimidation.”

Hours: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. during the week, staying open until midnight on weekends.

Thanks Erin. After comparing Richmond Heights and Maplewood city maps, I'd say it's in St. Louis City. Agree?

My husband works for the City of Richmond Heights and it is not located in Richmond Heights regardless of what the zip code is (in response to awoaca).....call city hall and ask before you type in an opinion. Erin is right and I see nothing wrong with her letting Doug know. She was just helping him maybe he didn't know.
