Help Wanted: Poll Workers Needed for August Primary

Want to earn extra cash while helping the democratic process? St. Louis County needs 3,500 workers for the Aug. 7 primary.

 

The St. Louis County Board of Elections needs poll workers to staff its 450 polling places for the Aug. 7 primary election.

Election Day for poll workers begins at 5 a.m. and ends after the polls close at 7 p.m.

Tis is a paid position, and includes a required training class as well as Election Day. 

Potential poll workers must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Have registered to vote in Missouri.
  • Declare themselves to be Democrats or Republicans.

Training is available Monday through Saturday at the election board's Maplewood office for all positions. To apply, fill out the form on the county's website or call 314-615-1892 or 314-615-1965.

I have served as a poll worker in the past and it has been a great experience. I encourage you to sign up - it is paid work and you are playing a necessary role to make our democracy work.
