About 30 protesters got off a school bus in front of Whole Foods on Monday, and staged what one called an unconventional protest against GMO foods.

GMO stands for genetically modified organisms. The group said Whole Foods doesn't adequately label GMO foods.

Jed Fisher, from Branson, said they came to raise awareness, not cause trouble.

The group, GMO-Free Midwest, held a conference in St. Louis, and the protest was on the schedule.

Brentwood Police officers told the group no signs could be carried on the property, so some went to the sidewalk along Brentwood Boulevard.

Some crowded onto the walk in front of the store as they spoke with shoppers about GMO food as they left the store, and Brentwood Police officers watched nearby.

Later, the group went to Monsanto to protest.

I was at the protest, and it was annoying; but I do believe strongly that GMOs are a significant threat to our health and well-being. The article talks about the protest, but doesn't give us any information about the underlying problems. For a good overview of GMOs as seen by those who are concerned about them, this documentary is available to view online free through September 22nd. http://geneticroulettemovie.com/ Watch a few minutes and then decide if you want to continue with it. If you like what it says and feel it's important, put the word out.
