QuikTrip, on the corner of Flora Avenue and Big Bend Boulevard, in Maplewood, wants to move to the northwest corner of Manchester Road and Big Bend. It would be a bigger store - what's known as a "Generation 3" QuikTrip.
The Maplewood Richmond Heights School District has stated its opposition to the move. Maplewood City Manager Marty Corcoran released a statement on the project's status. In May, QuikTrip signed a lease with the property owner Elsie Lesseg, that would go into effect if the city approves the move.

Daniel Lesseg, attorney for the property owner, his mother, Elsie Lesseg, had said he has a list of "talking points" addressing many of the issues around the move. At one point he said he would release the list to Patch, but recently said things are "progressing" for QuikTrip, and had changed his mind about releasing the list.
Representatives from QuikTrip and the property owner presented plans for the proposed move to the Maplewood Chamber of Commerce at their last meeting. Karen Hall, MRH superintendent of schools as of July 1, was also at the meeting.
Jeannine Beck, chamber executive director, said at that point, QuikTrip was in the process of securing approval from St. Louis County, and that it was her impression that they expected to get approval by July.
She said the board heard from both sides, but no consensus was reached. She said they decided they needed more information before they made a decision on whether the chamber would take a position. The chamber's next meeting is June 21.
Beck said the next steps would be for QuikTrip to go before the Maplewood Planning and Zoning commission, then to the city council. The next planning and zoning meeting is July 2.
