Who do we contact about wanting to sign the referendum?

So, when/where can we sign it?

"Powell said she and Maplewood residents Beverly Tronicek, Jeff Wiggs, Jason Dodson and Jim Ablin are the referendum committee. They signed the affidavit to begin the process."

Referendum.....Waste, waste, waste of taxpayers time and money. Who else has wanted to take over that area....NO ONE. I've lived in Maplewood since 1960.....and that corner hasn't changed a bit except for Owners & paint...We had to look at the vacant Cavalier car lot, then Shoney's building, then new car lot, for a long, long, long time before CVS moved in and what an improvment that is on that corner. I'm for improvment in Maplewood, not vacant buildings.

I'm very interested in helping with obtaining signatures. I was the treasurer with the group who fought against Wal-Mart. I live on Cambridge Avenue, have been a Maplewood resident for over 30 years. If another business was wanting to open there, I'd be more "open" about it. Unfortunately, there isn't, so a new Quiktrip would look better than what's there now. I'd like to see Maplewood Scooter Store move to the old Quiktrip or the vacant TKO DJ's place! Also I love Walmart (another fight) and the upgrade it has brought to our area. Look at all the new shops, restuarants, hotel, etc., that sprung up around Walmart. I do however, shop the downtown Maplewood stores to support them still. I love shopping Maplewood and hope it continues to grow with new exciting, tasty shops. I'd like to see it grow like The Loop or Webster Groves as well and have more foot traffic, and it is! Believe me.....it was rough there for awhile and I was ashamed & afriad of where I lived. Vacant buildings, boarded up buildings, home values down. I'm so happy to see St. Louis Lighting Group going in and improving Manchester! How long have we looked at that eye sore of a boarded up building. They fought Schlafly when it wanted to come in and again, it's been a wonderful, delicious asset to Maplewood. How long did it take before Monarch (Katz drug store) improved that corner and now I fear it's going to close. A sports bar/restaurant would be great with those open windows. I fear we'll lose Jumpin' Jupiter too. I just want to see OPEN FOR BUSINESS....not boarded up, run down, vacant shops in Maplewood. Maplewood, City of Progress, USE to be our motto.....quit fighting and embrace.
