Water Main Break Floods Lyndover in Maplewood

The break is in the 7200 block of Lyndover Place.

When rain finally started falling from the sky on Sunday, it wasn't the only water that residents living in the 7200 block of Lyndover Place were treated to.

A water main break started flooding the block sometime mid-morning. Both sides of the block are currently closed to through traffic.

Maplewood police were on the scene just before noon. It's currently unknown when the water main will be fixed.

That looks like a pretty good break too. Was worried about the pipes in Maplewood....with all the water main breaks going on in the city. Hopefully it will be fixed without too much inconvience.

It looks like crews are now working to fix the break. The water has stopped flooding the street too.

Wow, we're nearly neighbors - I'm on the 7300 block of Lyndover. I drove by coming from church (Concordia Lutheran) and called the water company. The rep asked for city and I said Maplewood, 63143. He said, "New Jersey?" It was really gushing when I saw it. To think of all the water lost when we have had this drought.

I know! If only the water had rushed down our yards instead of the street, right?
