What's Open on Labor Day in Maplewood and Brentwood?

Both Brentwood and Maplewood libraries will be closed. The Heights will have shortened hours, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Turns out if you need to shop for food, chances are your store will be open on Monday, Labor Day. If you want to eat out, maybe not.

Here's a sampling of area food shopping.

Applegates Deli 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Dickie's 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Dierbergs 6 a.m. - Midnight
Kakao Chocolate closed
Sam's Club 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Schnucks 6 a.m. - midnight
Shop n' Save 6 a.m. - midnight
Trader Joe's 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Walmart Regular hours
Whole Foods 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.

And if you want to eat out.

Boogaloo closed
Carl's closed until Sept. 11
Frank Papa's closed
Home Wine Kitchen regular hours
Imo's Pizza 2 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Maya Cafe closed
Piccadilly closed Mondays
Porter's Fried Chicken 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Schlafly Bottleworks lunch - 3 a.m.
St. Louis Bread Co. regular hours
Steak 'n' Shake regular hours
