If you didn’t notice, it has been HOT, HOT, HOT outside. Even with the break in the over-100-degree days, a walk outside for exercise is not cool. It seems we are perspiring just walking to the car!
There is a solution. It is cool-really cool! Get inside for you fun and exercise. I often tell people “I work in an ice box!” and that has more than a bit of truth to it. Brentwood Recreation Center host the most wonderful ice arena. It is not a new-fangled building. It is not publicized all over the world. It is an amazingly family-friendly place to spend an afternoon!
People come to skate from as far as Edwardsville and Shilo, Illinois; Famrington and Jefferson City, Missouri and as close as just down the street. They come because this is a great place to skate. They come because it is a good place to learn. They come because it is a cool, fun place to be.
I enjoy watching skaters ages 3 to 93 (really) spend their summer days enjoying the cool. Whether you are a complete novice or you have skating skills that are professional level, it is a great time of year to lace up the skates. I hope we’ll be sharing the ice soon.
