Lightning woke me up. At first I thought it was the other Mark's flashlight as he gets up at 5:30a.m. No, it was lightning! So the pitter-patter of raindrops falling on my tent reminded me that I had NOT put up the tent's rain-fly.
I quickly shimmied through the double zippered entrance. Mark was up and brought his halogen flashlight over. I quickly snapped together the center pole, positioned it under the rain-fly, and attached the clips at the four corners of the tent where it was staked into the ground. Not bad for doing it in semi-darkness!
I settled back into my sleeping bag and enjoyed the sound of rain on my canvas enclosure. Ah, the sounds and smell of rain at The Rafting Company.

I was ankle-deep in water after a water main break on my street.
It was kind of funny for me to think about: on most days, the water main break would have made for an annoying Sunday, but having water on the ground AND in the sky was such a treat.

I was driving to church and lunch in the Kirkwood/Fenton area thinking, "Of all the days to get rain, it had to be the one when I'm out and about the most." But it was a delightful thing, booming thunder and all.

I was running with some of Stray Rescue's dogs as part of their Running Buddies program. For the most part they all loved the rain (and the cooler weather)!

I was in Washington D.C. visiting my daughter...I pulled up St. Louis weather on my phone and when I "saw" it was raining I cheered for the withering plants in our yard!
