I was just thinking, if you happen to see something.....like the sign in front of City Hall, or theRead More sign in Schnuck's parking lot....regarding something going on in Brentwood, now you can click on the "Post" board at the top of the page, and let people know what is happening in Brentwood. We have the new format so we can now post whatever we want. Just click and post. Anyone can do it too.

I doubt this discrepancy you think exists is because the editors have more of a connection toRead More Maplewood. I imagine it is because Maplewood officials and Chamber of Commerce members send press releases to the editors regarding upcoming events and news items. If you want your local community to have more of a presence in the Patch, I suggest you contact the proper officials in Brentwood and urge them to send such notices. Self-promotion for a community is a good thing, although in the case of Brentwood Days and other iconic Brentwood events, it was my understanding that the city didn't want it publicized and preferred it to be a smaller event.

Sorry Alex I was just making a joke.

If you know the the victim or the perpetrator name you can try to access the court records here.Read More https://www.courts.mo.gov/casenet/base/welcome.do or you could visit or call the Maplewood Police Department at 7601 Manchester Rd St Louis, MO 63143 (314) 645-4880 Good luck!

Congrats to Coach Albrecht for a great career. While he didn't have great success as a head coach atRead More his alma mater St. Louis University, he made the most of his talent and knowlege at Meramec with a record nearly impossible to top.
Stephanie R. May 22, 2013 at 10:28 am
After the recent attack on a female at Meramec and how the school police and administration handledRead More this, I don't trust STLCC for safety at all.

Is this the same Vince O'Brien who went to St. Monica and DeSmet?

Thanks for sharing this great news!

Wow. Stephanie, I wonder if you ever had breast cancer or know someone who has. HER MOTHER DIEDRead More FROM IT. She had an 87% chance of getting the same cancer. I have never been her biggest fan, but I applaud her decision to do this for herself and her family. I don't know any woman who would go through a mastecomy (BTW I have had one) to be an attention whore. No attention or glory is worth the surgery, the drains, the pain, and the reconstruction process that she faces.
CSloan May 22, 2013 at 11:47 am
I absolutely disagree, Stephanie. As an A list celebrity, she has a platform that orgs like KomenRead More could only dream of having/buying. If this means more women are informed about breast cancer risks, options, prevention, than I applaud her for being a "whore". Obviously Angelina has access to healthcare options that none of the rest of us do, but perhaps she can shine a light on that as well. She's made her fortune on being beautiful and perfect, and she chose to put life ahead of that. She didn't get bangs or wear a bad outfit, SHE HAD HER BREASTS AND OVARIES REMOVED.

I love that we are all talking about breast cancer, due to Angelina Jolie! The more educated andRead More informed we become, the better choices we can make for our future. Barb, your words are so true, a bilateral mastectomy is a major surgery with many risks. I hope you are doing well after yours. Visit my website www.breastcancerwarrior.org for support from other breast cancer warriors. CSloan, you are correct in that Angelina has a unique platform to get the word out and that Angelina's surgeries were not a fashion statement. Stephhanie R, I appreciate your opinion as we are all entitled to have our own. Please bear in mind that one in four women will develop breast cancer so any and all attention drawn to this disease is welcome. It's time for a cure! Beverly

I love spending time in Forest Park. My boyfriend and I spent a lot of time there when we firstRead More started dating. There was always something to do, and it was FREE!

Watching 'Rear Window' on Art Hill.
BOB OSTERHOLT May 18, 2013 at 01:54 am
Sledding on Art Hill, and "Suicide Hill", with the great big tree at the bottom. PeopleRead More who took the East side of the hill and hit the whoopydedoo, flew threw the air and broke their sled, so there was always a bonfire at the top of the hill, full of burnt sled frames. Best bonfire in town !

I talked to someone who hit both the ArtFest and Taste of Maplewood. Sounds like a great draw to theRead More area!
stacey mcmackin June 1, 2013 at 10:08 pm
As a volunteer for the ArtFest, it not only gave me a chance to connect with people who are myRead More neighbors, but a chance to show off our community as one that supports cultural enrichment. Hope the rest of the Centennial events are well-attended. They're well worth it.
