Dew is a 2-year-old cat who came to the Animal Protective Association of Missouri as a stray in July 2011. How sad that her family never came to find her! Dew is a very sweet and affectionate cat. She would like nothing more than to lounge on the couch with her people. She also really enjoys playing with cat nip toys.  As always, the adoption fee for cats is "Pick Your Price." Readers of this site are very familiar with the mission of the Animal Protective Association of Missouri. Each week, the Brentwood-based nonprofit spotlights an adoptable pet on the site. That's part of the organization's goal to give homes to otherwise-homeless animals. Many of the animals have been lost or abandoned. In 2011*, the organization found homes for more than 2,000 animals. Last year, the organization also: Went through $50,000 worth of dog and cat food Logged more than 10,000 hours of service from 280 volunteers Educated more than 4,600 children and adults through the human …
This adorable kitten is Benny. He is a 2-month-old fuzzy brown tabby. Benny came to the Animal Protective Association of Missouri as a stray. He is very grateful to have a warm place to stay. Benny loves to cuddle. He purrs non-stop when he is getting attention. But, Benny also loves to play. He is a wonderful kitten who will bring so much joy to his new family. If you are considering adopting a kitten for the holidays, be sure to remember that adding a pet to your family is a big decision. Make sure the time is right and that everyone in the family is ready for the responsibility.
This is Kaycos, a 1-year-old lab and boxer mix. She is hoping that she will find her forever home in time for the holidays. Kaycos has a wonderful personality. Vanilla is a flame point Siamese mix kitty. She has beautiful blue eyes and her personality is so sweet that she's just like puddin'! Vanilla gets along well with dogs but prefers to be the only feline in the house. She is lovable and enjoys cuddling with her people. Gus is a 4-year-old black cat that has been at the Animal Protective Association of Missouri since September. Look at that face! How can you resist? Pepper is a wonderful dog and it is hard for the Animal Protective Association of Missouri staff and volunteers to understand why she has been at the shelter for so long. Pepper came to the APA in early July. She is a fantastic dog who loves everyone she meets. She enjoys playing with other dogs and she gets along great with children. Pepper is housetrained, likes to sleep in her crate and is only a year and a half old. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. Just like his Sesame Street namesake, Grover is a lovable, furry guy. He has quite a personality but he wants everyone to know that he is not The Monster at the End of This Book! Anya is an 8-year-old Rottweiler mix who is a laid back, mellow gal. She is looking for a home to spend her twilight years. Anya adores children and is wonderful with them. In addition to purebred dogs, did you know you can find designer dogs in shelters too? Meet Cody! He is a Puggle, which is a cross between a pug and beagle. Cody is 1 year old and has been at the Animal Protective Association of Missouri since August 13.  He is active and loves to have a good time. His favorite thing to do is play with his special toy rope, but he also loves being around people. Cody will make a great companion and will bring lots of love and joy to his new family. The Animal Protective Association of Missouri is an open-admission shelter, which means we take in every animal brought to us. We even accept pet rats! Six adorable pet rats are looking for home. They range in age from 7 months to 3 years. They are very friendly and love to be with people.  The adoption fee for our rats is "Pick Your Price." Come take a look - they are on display in the APA's front lobby, and they really are cute!
Barbie is a 6-year-old black and white short-hair kitty. She has been at the APA since May and we're hoping she finds her new home soon. Barbie is a very sweet girl who is declawed in the front.
