Brentwood Brentwood High School (6-3) will meet Northwest Academy (8-1) in the regional state playoff game. This is the same point in last year's season when Brentwood beat Maplewood Richmond Heights 10-7 to move on to the state finals. The team the Eagles play this year, the Northwest Academy Hornets, have been ranked in the top ten in the state in the Associated Press poll for most of the season. Football The undefeated Blue Devils (9-0) play their final regular season game—which is also the last of three district games—against Lift For Life (1-4) on Thursday at 7 p.m. MRH is ranked as the No. 1 Class 2 team in the state, according to stlhighschoolsports.com. The road to the Class 2 State Championship begins on Wednesday, Nov. 3, when MRH will either face Principia (2-7) or Brentwood (5-3). The winner of the Nov. 3 game plays again on Monday, Nov. 8. Football MRH football (8-0) climbed to the No. 1 ranking in the Missouri AP high school football rankings for Class 2 teams. Their next opponent on Saturday, Northwest Academy (7-0), is ranked seventh. Three Blue Devils are getting looks from colleges: Calvin Belts has received offers from Bowling Green, Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, Illinois State and Eastern Illinois; Marcus Taylor is getting looks from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, Bowling Green and Murray State; and Antonio King has interest from Illinois State. Football In Brandon Gregory's first year as head coach, the Blue Devils are 7-0 overall and 5-0 in their conference. They're averaging 38.1 points a game, while giving up only 10.4.
