    Foundation Grounds is a Maplewood staple. This community coffee shop, located downtown at the corner of Manchester andMore Marshall, serves organic and fair-trade coffees and has a lively menu of locally-sourced foods. The atmosphere inside is airy and peaceful, perfect for an intimate chat, a quiet read or some quality time with your laptop. The walls are covered with whimsical murals and paintings by local artists and two large front windows let plenty of light in. Some nights, the shop hosts live music. For those who prefer their coffee or lunch al fresco, there are two sidewalk seating areas outside, with cedar picket fences and potted plants shielding them from passers-by. The staff at Foundation Grounds pride themselves on running a green shop, not only by recycling, but also by using biodegradable cups and eco-friendly cleaning supplies.
  • Stone Spiral Coffee & Curios

    Located next to Ryan Hummert Memorial Park, Stone Spiral Coffee & Curios offers the morning caffeine fix for manyMore in the Maplewood area. With a great drink menu that includes slushies, lemonade, chai teas, espressos, cappuccinos and lattes, finding the perfect drink is not a problem. In addition, it offers select beer and wines in the evening. It also offers a great food menu that includes flatbread pizzas, quesadillas, hummus, bagels and homemade pie at very reasonable prices. Weekend brunch is served from 9am to 2pm.

    Stone Spiral has free live music Monday through Saturday in the evenings. It also has an open microphone night on Wednesday that showcases local poets, writers and musicians.     The Coffee House is a neighborhood establishment located at the corner of Abbott Pl. and Southwest Ave. It is both aMore coffee house and billiard hall. This cash-only place serves Italian cream sodas and a variety of coffees.  There are two pool tables here and a big screen TV. It hosts open-mic entertainment nights every Wednesday.
