Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic School in Brentwood will host “For the Health of It,” a community health fair on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, from 9 a.m. - noon, in the school gym. Admission is $2 per person, and most screenings are free, while flu and pneumonia vaccinations are $30. Attendance prizes will be awarded at 10:15 and 11:30 a.m.
Representatives from Abbott EMS, Brentwood Fire Department, Clarkson EyeCare, Mercy Medical Center, Senior Services Plus, SSM St. Mary’s, VNA, Lutheran Senior Services, Bethesda Health Group, All Family Care and Walgreens will conduct health screenings for attendees. Screenings include blood pressure, vision and hearing, bone density and wellness. The Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) will offer flu shots for $30. Other organizations will provide health and senior living information.
The school is located on the corner of Brentwood Blvd. and Manchester Rd. “For the Health of It” is a fundraiser benefitting the Saint Mary Magdalen Class of 2013. For more information about the health fair, please contact Tracey Swabby, Event Chair, at 314-393-4101.

More About St. Mary Magdalen School
St. Mary Magdalen School is a pre-K to 8th grade school associated with the neighboring St. Mary Magdalen church. It accepts male and female students as young as age 3, from both Catholic families and non-Catholic families.
The curriculum includes all four core subjects, as well as religious education, PE, art, music and Spanish. It emphasizes developing in students a sense of community, acceptance and respect, and fostering strong Christian values. Each class takes part in a year-long service project in the community.
The school has a fully equipped and updated science lab, computer lab, library and cafeteria, as well as an outdoor learning facility in which students maintain vegetable and flower gardens. Students can also be involved in extracurricular activities such as sports, speech, band, cooking and drama.
