Cabin Fever? There's a Cod for that!

If this soggy weather has you chomping at the bits, start your car now and it should be defrosted just in time for God's Cod.

I relate cabin fever as being very similar to being on a diet. It's plain and simple; you always want what you can't have.  I could very easily become engrossed in a project which requires me to not leave my home for one or more days, yet when I feel like I can't or am advised not to do so, you would think I was just placed in prison. And so that is exactly how I felt this time last week with the "Snomageddon" that hit Maplewood and Brentwood.

Fast forward one week later, and it's not much better outside. If you're like me, I'm fairly certain you might just be tired of looking at the same people's faces that reside in your home. You see, today happens to be the third day in a row where impending freezing rain, sleet and snow were certain to grace my doorstep. All of this doom and gloom with the weather has left me in search of some decent adult conversation and heck a change of scenery.

What better place to do so other than the one and only Saint Mary Magdalen God's Cod Fish Fry!  It begins at 4:30 pm and ends at 7:30 pm, which is just enough time to stretch your vocal cords with another unsuspecting adult and plenty of time for your kids to burn off some energy with the other neighborhood children.

No, you didn't misread above. St. Mary Magdalen has a drive through, just in case you're still feeling a little shy to converse with the outside world.  In my opinion, the only thing that could possible make this drive through any better is if Father Jack, not to be confused with Jack Torrance, opted to be a car hop on roller skates.
