APA Partners on New Animal Welfare Certificate Program at STLCC

For 15 years, the APA's humane education program has taught thousands of young area students the importance of spay and neuter, lessons about dog fighting and classes on animal safety. This fall, we are proud to be expanding our program by entering the world of higher education!

In a partnership with St. Louis Community College, the Humane Society of Missouri and St. Louis Animal Care and Control, the APA's Education Coordinator, Michelle Kodner, will be an instructor in the new Animal Welfare Assistant Certificate Program at STLCC.

Students will learn about career and volunteer opportunities within animal welfare, the history of the humane movement, legislative and advocacy issues, and the differences between different animal welfare organizations. Each class features guest speakers who work and make a difference in animal welfare!

A semester of three classes can be taken for the certificate, or students can  choose only the classes they would like to take. For more information, visit www.stlcc.edu/ce or call (314) 984-7777 to request a brochure.

We are thrilled to be a part of such an exciting opportunity that gives students valuable insights into the world of animal welfare and a leg up on employment opportunities, too!
