Cats Join Forces with Dogs to Rally for New Kennels!

"Cat Daddy" Jackson Galaxy shows he's bi-pawtisan about pets and endorses the APA's Kennels for Canines project!

It's no secret by now that the Animal Protective Association is in a contest to win $20,000 for new glass kennels. We're trying hard to help our pooches by replacing the metal rod kennels with glass door panels, which will make our kennels healthier, less stressful, and friendlier. There are only 2 days left in the contest, so we're in our final push, and we got a bit of unexpected help this week, from a cat aficionado, nonetheless!

While on tour promoting his new book, Jackson Galaxy, host of the Animal Planet show, My Cat from Hell, stopped by the KPLR studio and visited with the APA adoptable feline, Van Buren. Jackson then heard about our contest and gave a big thumbs-up to our efforts! He recorded a message of support for the Kennels for Canines project - check it out!

Van Buren had to agree with his new sage friend. He knows how much the cat condos have helped his kitty friends, and he's ready to sign on to help the pooches! He'd still like you to know that he's available for adoption, though. Van Buren is a 5-year-old lovable cuddler who is looking for a new home that will provide him with snuggles and playtime. He is friendly with everyone he meets, including other cats. Come give Van Buren a hug at 1705 S. Hanley Rd, or visit adoptable pets online at www.apamo.org.
