Home Siding Give Away from BOLT Restoration

Is the outside of your house looking tired and worn down? Are you wanting new siding but do not want to pay a fortune for it? BOLT Restoration is here to help to perfect your curb appeal with an offer that has never been done before.

BOLT is extending its July special into the month of August. All of the siding purchased and installed in August is only 10% over their cost. Most companies charge 40-50% over cost in siding jobs.

Purchasing new siding for your home can be a difficult process since so much comes into play. Put aside the color, style and pattern, and consider its functionality, such as fade, noise and impact resistance. Add some curb appeal by choosing the best siding not only to best suit your budget but for the weather endured by your house each year.

Let BOLT Restoration break down the different types of siding for you to help the process go more smoothly. Below is a brief evaluation of the different types of siding along with BOLT’s recommendation.

First off, if your home is finished with Masonite, take it off as soon as possible! Masonite is a type of wood siding that is no longer approved in the industry for many reasons. Masonite tends to buckle, rot, soften, blister or severely swell. If you still have this type of siding on your home, please have a BOLT representative come look into helping you get it replaced.

Wood siding makes for great curb appeal by adding character to your home. Wood siding is more likely to rot, especially from termites, is not fire resistance, and is consider the highest maintenance. Wood requires frequent painting or staining. BOLT’s recommendation would be to check the quality of wood siding for special safety coatings before installation. LP SmartSide is BOLT’s wood siding product recommendation.

Aluminum may be fire resistant and inexpensive. However, after a hailstorm rolls through the neighborhood, properties with aluminum siding look similar to overused dartboard! Like most then metals, aluminum dents and chips very easily.  Maintenance wise, aluminum must be painted every few years as well to maintain positive curb appeal. BOLT’s recommendation would be to replace it with Mastic vinyl or Hardie.

One of BOLT’s top recommendations for home and commercial siding is Hardie siding. Hardie’s life span outstands all of its competitors; it is very thick and strong, making it the most durable. If you keep your grill close to the exterior of your home, Hardie will not melt or burn since it is fire resistant.

Ultimately, are you looking for low cost and low maintenance? Then Mastic Vinyl is the way to go! Vinyl is also rot-resistant and the easiest/quickest to install. When installing Mastic siding, the foam installed behind it also keeps your heating and cooling inside your home, essentially keeping your electric bill lower. BOLT highly recommends Vinyl, especially if Mastic products are used.
