Clock at Manchester and Big Bend Is Removed

The 48-inch diameter clock on what was a Ford dealership came down at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Charles Heligee of St. Louis Time and Signal sold it to the property owner, Dan Lesseg, about six years ago. Heligee is buying it back. He said he was given 10 days to take it down.

Heligee said he would hopefully resell the clock, but it may end up in his garage. St. Louis Time and Signal supplies public clocks all over St. Louis, including the one on St. Louis City Hall.

Heligee said Lesseg offered it to Maplewood, but the city turned down the offer.
