Vandals Throw Pots of Plants and Furniture Into Brentwood Swim Club Pool

One of the directors said the new pump system might be damaged.

The Brentwood Swim and Tennis Club was vandalized Friday evening, and Thomas Wiley, a member of the board of directors, said the violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law if caught.

Wiley said several large pots of plants and furniture were thrown into the pool.

"We typically deal with issues like this every year except for the large pots," he said in an email to Patch. "Because of their size, soil was dispersed all over the bottom of the pool and we're still waiting to see if it caused any damage to the new pump system we just installed last week."

He said if this had occurred during the season the pool would have been closed for several days to remove all the soil that covered the entire bottom of the pool.

The club has taken steps to prevent this from happening again.

"We have now installed surveillance cameras around the property in hopes to deter any future issues and we're seeking help from the community to see if they saw or heard anything that night," Wiley said. He also said a report was filed with Brentwood Police.
