After Perennial’s August reMAKE event, you’ll want to raise more than just your wine glass. You’ll hold high your wine bottle and the cork too because at this crafty get-together over drinks you’ll transform old materials into sophisticated wine accessories. Learn simple ways to shape leather into decorative wine glass markers and rework belts into wine bottle carriers. We’ll even use leftover corks to create handmade stamps.

Perennial, a grassroots non-profit, has a mission to teach the St. Louis community to see the creative potential in items they might normally throw away. With all materials provided and instructors on hand to guide you, you’ll leave reMAKE with all you need to uncork a bottle in style.

Perennial will hold it’s monthly meet up on Thursday, August 16th from 5:30pm – 7:30pm, at Parker’s Table. This small, independent wine shop located in Richmond Heights focuses on supporting independent businesses and family-owned wineries. They’ve even got their own upcycled project on display! You can’t miss their old mail truck turned food cart that sits outside this former post office building built in 1928.

ReMAKE is just $5 for crafting supplies + instruction. To save you and your friends a spot, RSVP to classes@perennialstl.org by Monday, August 13th. With 25 person limit, the event list may fill up quickly.

I was just thinking, if you happen to see something.....like the sign in front of City Hall, or theRead More sign in Schnuck's parking lot....regarding something going on in Brentwood, now you can click on the "Post" board at the top of the page, and let people know what is happening in Brentwood. We have the new format so we can now post whatever we want. Just click and post. Anyone can do it too.

I doubt this discrepancy you think exists is because the editors have more of a connection toRead More Maplewood. I imagine it is because Maplewood officials and Chamber of Commerce members send press releases to the editors regarding upcoming events and news items. If you want your local community to have more of a presence in the Patch, I suggest you contact the proper officials in Brentwood and urge them to send such notices. Self-promotion for a community is a good thing, although in the case of Brentwood Days and other iconic Brentwood events, it was my understanding that the city didn't want it publicized and preferred it to be a smaller event.
