Skaters Celebrate Ice-Travaganza at Brentwood Ice Arena
Skaters of all ages showcase their new skills at the annual holiday event.
Santa's elves fidgeted on their bench. They didn't know when they'd be going out on the ice. They even wondered where Santa was. He always comes—this is, after all, the Holiday Ice-Travaganza.
Skater students who enrolled in the "Learn-to-Skate" classes at the Brentwood Ice Arena held the annual show on Monday night. Skaters of all ages participated, from the smallest Tots and Pre-Alpha skaters up to the Fleur de Lis Synchronized Skating Team.
They all glided, some with outstretched arms, across the smooth ice. Those not skating often cheered in support of those on the ice.

"It makes her happy; it makes us happy," said Becky Kidwell, the mother of skater Jessie Kidwell. Jessie skated with her eight classmates to "Baby it's Cold Outside." Becky said Jessie had been coming to practice every Saturday for two months.
"She started in the Pre-Alpha class, and then finished all the skills, and graduated up to Alpha," she said.
