All About Maplewood's Let Them Eat Art

Maplewood calls Let Them Eat Art (LTEA) its "whimsical tribute to Bastille Day." It's a great excuse to have a fun night in Maplewood.

The 8th annual Let Them Eat Art is tonight, July 12th, from 6 to 11 p.m.

From the LTEA website, here's where to park, also a complete directory of events. Basically it covers downtown Maplewood on Manchester Road and Sutton Boulevard.

Sutton Boulevard between Marietta and Hazel avenues will be closed for the evening. Southbound Sutton traffic will be able to access eastbound Marietta (to access the Marietta Parking Lot) but traffic will not continue south on Sutton. Use Big Bend to Flora Avenue east, to get to Sutton south of Hazel.

The event has been well-covered in advance.

This year more than a thousand cupcakes will be given away. The "Cupcake Matrix" explains where to go. These Maplewood businesses are in the Matrix, but good times will be all over town.
It's not just about cupcakes. Here's a short list of activities, including fun stuff for kids. (Also from Maplewood's LTEA website)

  • Live demonstrations by more than 50 regional artists and artisans (2013 listing available soon!)
  • Live music at the Sutton Main Stage with headliner the Gene Dobbs Bradford Blues Experience at 8:30 p.m. and St. Louis favorite Gumbohead opening the event at 6 p.m.
