Strange Donuts Delivers 50 Dozen 'Bart's Revenge' Friday Morning

Strange Donuts delivered 50 dozen doughnuts Friday morning.

The Maplewood doughnut shop that everyone is waiting to open is doing well keeping in the news.

Strange Donuts Co-owner Corey Smale advertised online he'd deliver a dozen "Bart's Revenge" doughnuts to the first 50 who ordered.

It was called on Twitter, of course, a #strangedelivery.

Smale talked with the Riverfront Times' about it. He said the delivery idea came from the inability to open the shop, so far, at 2709 Sutton Boulevard.

"Our goal is to open a doughnut shop," he said. "The truth is, it'll be this summer. Either in August, or at the very least in September. There's a lot of work -- this is a retail space that we're turning into a commercial kitchen. There's a lot of county permits and things that we just can't control. We're working as hard as we can."
