A Maplewood restaurant made it into this year's prestigious Zagat’s 2013 America’s Top Restaurants survey. It's Jim Fiala's Acero.
Acero and other other local restaurants were listed in a compilation of 1,822 of the top restaurants across 46 states, ranked by more than 225,000 diners.
In a Patch readers' poll Acero took second to Cicero's Restaurant in University City and in Oct. 2011, the Riverfront Times named Acero the best Upscale Italian in St. Louis.
Here's the other nine in the top 10 St. Louis restaurants in the Zagat list. Zagat doesn't rank them in order.
- Blues City Deli
- Anthony's Bar
- The Crossing
- Sidney Street Cafe
- Pappy's Smokehouse
- Citizen Kane's Steak House
- Bogart's Smokehouse
Zagat creates user-generated restaurant reviews for eateries worldwide. Its surveys include ratings about food, decor, service and cost. It also rates hotels. Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG) acquired Zagat in September 2011.
