Brentwood Trader Joe's to Expand

The often packed store may soon have wider aisles, though parking will stay the same.

The often elbow-to-elbow shopping at Trader Joe's at the Brentwood Promenade will improve soon.

The 10,400 square foot store is expanding into the Beauty First space next door, which plans to close by the end of April, the St. Louis Post Dispatch reports. The move will grow Trader Joe's by about a third.

Parking will stay as it is, but St. Louis firm Crawford, Bunte, Brammeier told the city the lot is sufficient.

"So it's more of a 'perception problem' than an actual parking problem, a consultant told the planning and zoning commission, according to minutes of a November meeting. While the areas in front of Target and Trader Joe's are more heavily used than others, there are still plenty of spaces on the sides that rarely are used, the firm said."
