Buy Ladies' Shoes With a Reggae Beat in Brentwood
An owner of the Brentwood store has hosted a reggae music radio show since 1992.
Get to the Shoe Stop in Brentwood for a relaxing experience in buying ladies' shoes.
It's a 35-year family business with five St. Louis locations, and the Brentwood spot has gentle reggae music playing all day long.
Three bothers run the shops, and one, Jeff Frelich, was in the Brentwood store last Tuesday.

Frelich also hosts a reggae music show on community radio station KDHX under the name Professor Skank.
"I’ve been into reggae since the late 70s," he said. "Started playing it on the radio in 1992. I play it here. It’s mellow."

Frelich runs his own label, Skank Productions, and sells CDs in the shoe shop for $10.
"I give a little bit to charity," he said. "You got to do a little bit of hustle sometimes."
Frelich said they've been in the building for five years. Before the Shoe Stop, the building housed a pro golf discount and, before that, a hockey shop owned by former St. Louis Blues player Noel Picard.
Frelich said he bought hockey gear there when he was a kid, and later golf equipment, when it was a golf shop.
The Shoe Stop was in Brentwood Square before it was knocked down, he said.
