Vom Fass is preparing a fun filled evening of Scottish Culture and Cuisine on Friday, October 26th. This is a very special event featuring not only the incredible selection of rare single malt Scotches at Vom Fass, but we are also being assisted by two talented individuals who will be on had to make this one memorable event.

Joining us will be Master Piper Matt Pantaleoni, one of the top pipers in the United States.  He competes not only in events across North America, but also travels to Scotland each summer to compete among the world's best bagpipe players.

Also present and providing tasting portion sized dishes to compliment or contrast with each Scotch will be Chef Elizabeth Schuster. Chef Schuster is established in the St Louis food scene from her time spent as banquet chef at The Chase Park Plaza, head chef at The Scottish Arms, and has now started her own business called "Tenacious Eats". Look for Chef Schuster as she competes in the Chef Battle Royale in the 2012 Taste of St Louis as well.

The Menu for the night is as follows:

Arran 14 year - Asparagus Panicotta, lollipop tomatoes from Double Star Farms and a German Herb Vinegar gastrique.

Laphroaig 12 year - Oysters cold smoked with “Libertine soaked Absinthe chips” Crisped Prosciutto, fennel prawns, sea salt, and star anise.

Jura 19 year - Soft braised quail and quail egg from Whetstone Farms, mole sauce made with Waldburg Balsam ‘Fig- Chili’ Vinegar and mixed local greens in a Black Cumin Vinaigrette.

Price for the event is $50/person and will include the entertainment, food, scotch, and a presentation about Scotch and the distilleries themselves. This event would be wonderful for those both new and old to the world of single malt Scotches. Please join us for one of a kind event.
