Flying Tiger Motorcycles Is Growing

The shop known for vintage cycles will soon be carrying new motorcycle lines in an expanded space.

The Maplewood motorcycle shop known for sales and repair of decades-old motorcycles is expanding into the space next door.

owner Eric Bess spent days pulling up carpet, then chipping away floor tiles until he could barely lift the hammer. It was an antique mall, with peg-board on all the walls, which had to come too.

He said he is going to carry a couple small lines of motorcycles to help fill the space.

"Royal Enfield is a very old line," Bess said. He said it was a British-made bike, jointly made in India, where it's still made. He said it's still affordable, with beautiful paint jobs.

Bess is planning on a soft opening of the new space on Oct. 20.

Watch for the second annual Halloween costume ride, too.
