Free Movie Rentals at Family Video
The Maplewood store has nearly 5,000 movies available for free rentals.
In an effort to help families going through a tough economic time, in Maplewood announced an expansion of its free movie rental program.
The nearly 4,000 movies in the store's catalog section—which includes titles like Hot Rod, Quantum of Solace and The Simpons Movie—are available for free rentals. The video store already gives free rentals from its 700 educational, fitness and children's movies.
"We've been noticing that people don't have the entertainment budget they once had," store manager Jason Richmond said. "We wanted to do something to give back to the community a little bit."

Anyone can sign up for a free account and participate in the program, Richmond said.
Family Video is located at 3515 S. Big Bend Boulevard. It's open from 10 a.m. to midnight every day.

The store hasn't yet set an end date for the free rental program.
