Is This the Last Straw for Jumpin' Jupiter?

The Maplewood night club has had financial and and community relations problems since last year.

The Jumpin' Jupiter night club received another eviction notice this week. The first one came last May for nonpayment of $40,506 in rent, but the club managed to stay in business.

On Monday, the club was issued its fifth such notice. An eviction notice was taped to the door on Wednesday.

The business owed $40,312 to its landlord, Maple King LLC, on March 4, according to a court record. Jumpin' Jupiter is owned by James G. Callahan.

Since the club's May 2012 eviction notice, it lost a company of performers and was accused three times of not paying state sales taxes.

In June, scantily clad employees bringing in business on the sidewalk ruffled feathers in Maplewood.
