Jim Callahan, owner of in Maplewood, is planning to take Lola Van Ella, owner of Van Ella Studios, to court for libel.
Van Ella Studios had produced shows and supplied performers for Jumpin’ Jupiter since its opening a year ago.
On June 15 Van Ella Studios announced in a lengthy statement on its Facebook page that Callahan had not paid the company for recent shows, and accused Jumpin’ Jupiter management of inappropriate behavior and theft.
The posting also announced Van Ella will do no more shows for Jumpin’ Jupiter.
“I’m about to start a massive slander suit against her, and I can’t really say a whole lot right now,” Callahan said.
He said Van Ella’s accusations are the cause of his current problems.
“I didn’t think we were going to make it the first day,” he said, “but everything is happening now because she put that weird negative spotlight on us.”
“About Lola, are some of the things she’s saying true? Yes,” Callahan said.
“Are some things left out? Purposely, manipulated, twisted? Absolutely, and I will prove that in court, harshly – very harshly,” he said.
