"Maplewood Minute" to Feature Maplewood Businesses on Oldies 103.3 KLOU

The first of the weekly spots highlighted the upcoming "Let Them Eat Art."

On Friday mornings, you can now catch a bit of Maplewood business news on the radio.

Account executive Aubrey Bates of Clear Channel approached Executive Director Jeannine Beck earlier this year about promoting with their stations.

Beck said usually when media approaches her about advertising, the opportunities are event-based and beyond what the chamber's budget allows, and told Bates so.

After several discussions, Bates came back to Beck and presented the concept of a Maplewood Minute, which would premier weekly throughout the year.

"From her presentation, I could tell that she put a great deal of thought into our discussions and really listened to what kind of package would benefit us," Beck said. "The package is appealing because of the opportunity for our businesses, who individually couldn’t afford advertising on a top radio station, to receive high visibility."

Beck said the benefit for Maplewood is two-fold; businesses enjoy the perks of prime advertising opportunities, and Maplewood’s image as a great place to play and do business is reinforced week after week.
