Maplewood Restaurant Named "2012 Restaurant of the Year" by St. Louis Magazine

Home Wine Kitchen was honored last year too. It made the top this year.

The October 2012 issue of St. Louis Magazine, the "Best Restaurants" issue, has named Maplewood's Home Wine Kitchen its 2012 Restaurant of the Year.

Last year it was the Best of 2011. The magazine noted the menu changes weekly, so if you like something you better order it now.

The St. Louis Magazine website doesn’t contain the current issue, so you need to go to a newsstand if you want to read about it.

"We do a No Menu Monday, it’s the most popular night of the week," front of house manager Josh Renbarger said.

He doesn't want to discourage callers, but if you want to get in on it, call soon. The 40-seat room is booked well in advance.

“One foot in front of the other,” Renbarger said. “We were shocked, and now we're just kind of waiting to see what happens.” His partner in the business is chef Cassy Vires.
