Original Pancake House Opens in Clayton

OHOP, already a hit in Chesterfield, comes to Colonial Marketplace in Clayton and Ladue.

Pancake purists rejoice! There is now another Original Pancake House in the St. Louis area.

The owner of the popular Chesterfield pancake house opened his second location Wednesday in Colonial Markeplace, in Clayton.

The new location sits in the shopping center that straddles the Clayton/Ladue border. It is open from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday.

Gordon Manus, owner of Original Pancake House in Chesterfield, previously told Patch he invested $900,000 to open his second St. Louis area restaurant.

The look is similar to the Chesterfield spot, known for its rustic look.

"There will be timber wood and pine walls, a big fire place and sky lights," he said. "It’s really nice-looking. You walk in, and you’ll be surprised."

The menu is the same at both locations and includes specialty apple and Dutch baby pancakes.

The chain, founded in 1953, has locations all over the country. The Clayton and Chesterfield locations are the only two in Missouri.
